About Jane

After Jane graduated from the National Horseracing College, she was sent on a placement as stable lass to Ralph Beckett. She had learnt a lot at NHC but had a lot more to learn so with a bit of hard work she was sent on the apprentice course.

During her 3 years working for Ralph Beckett, she was able to ride in races abroad. She rode in Germany, where she rode many good horses at home and had 11 rides on the track as an apprentice. Jane then decided to ride out for Mick Applebys, where she had 45 rides and 5 winners.

Elliott is now based in Newmarket with George Margarson where she is looking to further her riding career.

Jane looks back on the NHC as a great experience. It was fun but hard work and a real eye opener, which allowed her to be put in a good stead for her placement. Furthermore, she believes that you never stop learning in this industry and that it takes a lot of hard working hours to be successful, but the NHC was a good introduction.
