Rebecca Hares

Roving Tutor

Default

Becky began working at the National Horseracing College in November 2025.

Becky gained the Work-based Level 3 Diploma in Horse Care and Management qualification in an eventing and showjumping yard after leaving school. She then started to work in the horseracing industry as a Racing Groom in a couple of smaller yards, before deciding to attend the Royal Agricultural University to complete a degree in Bloodstock and Performance Horse Management.

Whilst studying, she rode out for racehorse trainer Fergal O’Brien and then stayed on full-time in a variety of roles for over 5 years and eventually becoming an Admin Assistant in the office. She gained a wealth of experience during her time at Fergal’s, including working directly under the Head Lad for her university placement, riding lots of different horses, travelling runners all over the country and working with a large, diverse team of people. She enjoyed some great days leading up at the races, including at the Cheltenham Festival and most memorably a winner at York with a horse she now owns in retirement.

Becky is hoping her passion for the racing industry and the experiences she has gained from it will be beneficial to the learners she tutors.
