Chairman
Philip was born and brought up in Doncaster, where his father Peter – a retired teacher – is a former Directly Elected Mayor.
Philip spent 19 years as the Conservative MP for Shipley (2005-2024) and is currently the Chairman of the Greyhound Board of Great Britain, a Non-Executive Independent Director of the Racecourse Association as well as owning his own public affairs and customer service consultancy business.
He is a former Chairman of Star Sports bookmakers and a former Board member of the Racehorse Owners Association. Before entering Parliament, Philip spent 12 years working for ASDA as a senior manager in customer service and marketing.
In 2024, Philip was knighted for Parliamentary and Public Service.
