Winning Weekend for NHC Graduates

The weekend of Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August 2025 was a weekend to remember for many who have completed qualifications through the National Horseracing College, taking centre stage in the UK and internationally.

Callum Rodriguez, who completed the Foundation Course at the National Horseracing College, claimed victory in the Group 2 Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes, partnering WAARDAH for trainer Owen Burrows on the final day of Glorious Goodwood, adding a Group 2 win to Callum’s book of group wins.

In Deauville, France, former Foundation Course learner, Daniel ‘Danny’ Tudhope, partnered FALLEN ANGEL to win the Group 1 Prix Rothschild – Fonds Europeen de l’Elevage, giving Danny his twelfth Group 1 career success.
Karl Burke’s stable star, Fallen Angel, was also lead up by Foundation Course graduate, Alice Kettlewell, who has been the Racing Groom of the star filly since the start of her racing career. Alice graduated from the 12-week residential Foundation Course at the National Horseracing College eight years ago and has become an invaluable member of the Spigot Lodge team.

It was a double triumph in Deauville as Hollie Doyle, who completed the Level 2 Equine Groom (Racing) Apprenticeship through the National Horseracing College, secured a win in the Group 3 Prix de Cabourg – Fonds Europeen de l’Elevage (Group 3), partnering TADEJ for trainer Archie Watson.

Alfie Gee, who completed the 12-week residential Foundation Course in December 2023, achieved his first career win from twelve rides as an Apprentice Jockey, partnering HURT YOU NEVER for Adrian Nicholls Racing. Alfie had his first ride under rules on 3rd June 2025, achieving numerous placings, including three seconds and five third places, and we’re delighted to see him in the winners’ enclosure.
