A new start for Josh Thorman with trainer Ian Williams

This time last year Josh, 22, was a student on the 12-week, residential Foundation Course at the College. Fast forward one year and he is employed in the West Midlands by dual purpose trainer, Ian Williams.

Josh came into racing after graduating from Uni with a Sports Exercise Science degree and his goal now is to successfully pass the mandatory Pre-Licence Apprentice Assessment Course followed by the two-week Apprentice Licence Course. Successful completion of both courses plus meeting the medical standards for ‘Fitness to Ride’ examination and the assessment of concussion protocol will see Josh granted an Apprentice Jockey Licence.
