Lucy Smith

After gaining a 2:1 BA (Hons) Degree in Business and Management for the Horseracing Industry in 2009, during which Lucy worked her placement year at Doncaster Racecourse in an Operations role, she was accepted onto the prestigious BHA Graduate Scheme in 2010.

Following a stint in Australia as Head Groom for Malua Racing and riding work at the famous Flemington racetrack in Melbourne, Lucy was offered a position with Newmarket trainer, Luca Cumani as a rider and HR Secretary.

Lucy has a wealth of racing knowledge and experience gained while riding work for some of Britain’s top trainers including Marco Botti, Roger Charlton, William Muir, Mick Appleby and Ed Walker.

In 2016 Lucy and her partner set up their own pre-training yard.
