Part-Time Assistant Chef X2

The National Horseracing College seeks to employ two part-time Assistant Chefs to join its enthusiastic, vibrant, and hardworking team.  As one of only two specialist horseracing colleges in the UK, this third-sector provider delivers training for people in the racing industry. Located in the scenic grounds of a private estate near Doncaster, it achieved Ofsted Grade 2 in 2022.

To be selected for this interesting and challenging role, you must have City and Guild’s 706/2 or NVQ Level 3 equivalent, advanced food hygiene (Level 3) or be prepared to work towards and achieve it. GCSE’s or equivalent in English and Maths, relevant catering experience in a busy kitchen with an excellent level of customer service skills, dynamism, and determination to succeed are essential.

Days of work:  This role works on a rota basis, days worked are:

  • Mondays – 7am – 6.30pm (included in these hours is a 30-minute unpaid lunch break) every other week
  • Thursday’s – 7am – 1pm or 12.30pm – 6.30pm
  • Friday’s – 7am – 1pm or 12.30pm – 6.30pm
  • Saturday – 10am – 6.30pm (included in these hours is a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)
  • Sunday – 10am – 6.30pm (included in these hours is a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)

Hours of work are 104 hours per month which is every other weekend.

The package on offer includes a salary of £16,798.08 per annum, a contributory pension scheme, an initial holiday entitlement of 25 days (+ Bank Holidays), Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), and Life Assurance (2 x salary).
