Adam Ferguson

Achievements:

Lead-up twice in the Grand National

Worked with Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls

First person in British Racing to complete the Level 4 qualification.


NHC Courses

Adam graduated from the NHC in the summer 2013 after completing the Level 1 foundation course. He also completed the Level 2 Apprenticeship Equine Groom Apprenticeship Standard, Level 3 Apprenticeship Senior Equine Groom Standard & Level 4 Learning Programmes in the Horseracing Industry.  

After Graduation

Adam Ferguson was placed successfully in Somerset with Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls. He worked there for three seasons and lead up twice in the Grand National as well as the Cheltenham Festival. He looked after some of the best horses on the yard and had an experience that was second to none. Whilst working for Nicholls, he completed his Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma in Racehorse Care & Management with the National Horseracing College. In addition, before applying for the NHC course he read for BA Creative Practise at the University of Newcastle.

In 2016 he was successful in applying for a place on the BHA Graduate Development Programme. He was placed at Weatherbys Limited working with the printing team.

Adam is currently enjoying working as Regional Community Executive for Racing Welfare.
Adam remembers his time at the National Horseracing College was invaluable and had really set him up for a long term career in the Racing industry.
