Training Instructor David Griffiths Enjoys Success Back on the Racecourse

Since joining the National Horseracing College in 2024, Training Instructor David Griffiths has returned to the winner’s enclosure as the owner and trainer of two Arabian racehorses. His recent success at Doncaster Racecourse, just six miles from the College, has been fantastic to see, and we’re all enjoying following the journey of Al Sharid.

David’s achievements are a great reminder of the calibre of industry professionals our learners are taught by every day. Across the College, our training instructors bring a wealth of industry experience from careers as jockeys, jockeys’ agents, work riders, travelling grooms and more. Their knowledge, skills and first-hand experience help shape the next generation of racing staff.

Everyone at the National Horseracing College is incredibly proud of David’s recent success, and we’ll be cheering him on when Al Sharid lines up in the £400,000 Qatar International Stakes at Goodwood on 29 July. We wish David and the team the very best of luck.
