Applications for the 2024 Pony Racing Academy will open in early 2024.
Our Pony Racing Academy, a 12-week programme delivered on Saturdays, is open to 11 – 15-year-olds who are currently unable to take part in Pony Racing due to financial or other constraints. Applicants must not own, lease, share or loan a pony, regardless of its suitability to Pony Race.
The Pony Racing Academy is funded by The Racing Foundation. Applicants must already be able to walk, trot and canter unaided and be available and to commit to all 12 Saturdays of the programme. Ponies in the care of the National Horseracing College will be used in the academy.
Towards the end of the programme, and if there is a pony race available, junior jockeys who have reached the required standard will be encouraged to take part.
