About Charlotte

Charlotte completed her level 1 and 2, and left the National Horseracing College in February 2013, in order to work for Paul Cole. She stayed there for four months and then decided to work for trainer Tony Carrols, where she worked there for 2 years up until last July. Unfortunately, she had broken her knee and had to take time off in order to recover. Once successfully recovered she decided to apply for her apprentice jockey at the National Horseracing College in June 2015.

Inappropriately, she failed her fitness to pass her license and decided to train and to retake the exams. However, after a fall off the horse at her current racing yard, she broke her back and decided to leave the racing industry. Though, she could not face not having any involvement with the fascinating industry and obtained her current job role, working in the sales for Carpet Gallop. This was not sufficient for her, so she occasionally rides out for local trainers.

Charlotte says: ‘Regret giving up riding now! Especially after leaving the National Horseracing College as the weakest rider but still managed to get to where I was. If you want it bad enough, ignore anyone putting you down and just work hard!’.
